5 Things: Baking Inspired Beauty

December 15, 2018
baking inspired beauty products

In today’s post, I thought I’d do something a little different. I’ve seen a ton of baking inspired beauty products out there lately, and I wanted to share some of my favorites (or ones I’m itching to try) here!

I’m not a makeup connoisseur by any means, but I do have an appreciation for nice products—especially when they happen to be themed after my love for baking 😉 One thing to note for the products in this post is that, to the best of my knowledge, they are cruelty-free!

Anyway. Enjoy! Hopefully this will give some of you out there some holiday gift inspo for the bakers in your life!
lush cupcake fresh face mask

1. Cupcake Fresh Face Mask by Lush

I’d been eyeing this face mask for a while because I love walking into Lush and exploring all their different soaps and massage bars. I finally tried it recently, and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s ultra chocolatey, which makes it feel really luxurious, and it has a touch of minty-ness to it as well, which makes it really refreshing.

One thing to note about Lush’s fresh face masks is that you need to refrigerate them and use them within a few weeks of buying. They’re that fresh.

beauty bakerie lip scrub2. Sugar Lip Scrub by Beauty Bakerie

Okay, I feel like this makeup brand was made for me. It’s cruelty-free, it’s all about baking, and all of the packaging is so so pretty. All of their products have fun connections to baking and sweets, like the HD Flour Setting Powder, Blending Egg Beauty Sponges, and “EyesCream” Eyeshadow. Plus, it looks like they recently started selling their products at Ulta.

I’m a stickler for not buying a new product until I use up another product and can therefore justify the purchase—but once I do, you can bet that I’ll be trying something from this line!

macaron soap trader joe's3. Macaron Soap by Trader Joe’s

These soaps looked so darling when I saw them at TJ’s that I just had to buy them. (Plus, I needed soap anyway.) The pack comes with three fragrances: lavender honey, raspberry, and mint. Each soap is individually wrapped in shrink-wrapped plastic, so this pack could potentially make for great stocking stuffers or something.

I’ve only tried the lavender honey one so far, but I can vouch that it smells lovely. Can’t wait to try the raspberry and mint ones!

glossier birthday balm dotcom

4. Birthday Balm Dotcom by Glossier

I have kind of a crush on this beauty brand, and I was really excited to get this lip balm as a birthday gift this year. The taste reminds me of funfetti birthday cake, but it isn’t sickeningly sweet like some flavored lip balms out there are.

I also have and love the coconut flavor, and my next purchase will definitely have to be the mint. Buuuut I’m also eyeing the rose. I’ve tried quite a few Glossier products in the NYC showroom, and I still say this is their best product!

mer sea coconut sugar body cream5. Coconut Sugar Body Cream by Mer-Sea & Co

I haven’t officially tried or even smelled this body cream sold at Anthropologie, but it popped up on my Insta feed recently (creepy how that happens), and I’ve been coveting it ever since. It looks like the coconut sugar scent is sold out, but there are still vanilla milk and bergamot fleur scents in stock.

I’m often not a huge fan of the fragrances at Anthro, so I’m curious as to what this one is like!
